Matchups

Here are some matchups for Harris Teeter starting tomorrow for triples. I went to my store last night and they were out of Skippy 28 oz peanut butter BOGO ($.40 coupon) and a got raincheck for triples.

Here is the link to the matchups from HotCouponWorld. I don't take the credit ;0)

Walgreens Rant

I am sorry it has been so long, but I have been busy with my other job-- finding homes for Foreign Exchange Students. By the way if anyone is so inclined I need hosts for my Chinese Program this summer from July 13th to August 2nd. The students attend school during the week and you can do 1, 2, or 3 weeks depending on your availability. Let me know!

Back to the bargains! Walgreens has some phenomenal bargains this week, so this morning I packed up my 3 little ones and went to get some freebies. They have done away with their Rebate catalog altogether, so now everything is done by Register Rewards-- somewhat like CVS's ecb system. I go into the store and get:
1 Rembrandt mouthwash $5.99 with $5.99 RRs,
1 Rembrandt toothpaste (same as the mouthwash),
2 bottles of Got2Be $10.00 with $5 RRs and 2 $2 off coupons (check my favorite blogs for the coupon),
1 Bayer Glucose Monitor $14.99 with mail in rebate and $5 RRs,
2 Nivea bodywashes for $4.99 with $4.99 RRs,
1 Colgate toothpaste (check the ad-- only specific ones are on sale) $4.49 with $4.49 RRs and 1 pack of Mentos gum.
I then do several transactions, so I can keep the cost to nothing or next to nothing-- here is the flaw in my plan and the system-- They haven't worked the kinks out yet. You see the manufacturer's pay for these coupons and some will give you an RR if you pay with an RR and some won't-- even if it is on a different product from a different company! It is a craps shoot if you will get your RRs if you paid RRs. It is very frustrating for you the customer and the employees. So, I spent 20+ minutes checking out with my 3 children all whining or screaming by the end. Are the deals worth it? I am not sure. All I can say is that I hope Walgreens fixes the system.

Walmart Great Deals

I am not an avid Walmart shopper. It is not as close to my house as Target and I just prefer Target to be honest, but I found some great deals there today.

The Airwick Freshomatic minis, Glade Sense and Spray and Glade Fans are on sale for $5 this week. With the coupons for $4 from the paper a couple weeks back all were a $1.

Huggies portable 16 count wipe containers (reuseable) were $1.25-- use $1 off any Huggies bath and body product and they were $.25 each.

Johnson's Buddies easy grip Sudzing Bar was $.97 with $1 off any Johnson product coupon it was a $.03 moneymaker.

Kashi waffles were $2.44 with $1.50 off coupon from http://www.coupons.com/ =$.94 (for my health conscience husband-- not me ;0)

I am sure there were more great coupon deals, but I had all three kids in tow and the 4 year old is not feeling well, so I left at that point!

Extra Cash?!

I found information about this site on Charlottemommies.com. I am cheap and always looking for ways to make a little cash, so I tried it. It seems many of the other ladies in the area are giving it a try also, and it seems like a legitimate way to make a couple bucks for 10 minutes of time. The website is www.youdata.com and you are just checking out ads and websites. I made $2.60 for about 5 minutes of looking at various ads. They deposit the money you make in your paypal account every Friday. I did Expo for a time and it was great, so maybe I can try this for a while and have money to buy coupons off ebay ;0) If you decide to sign up use me as a referral and I get a buck!

Lowes Foods' $5 off 10 deal

$4.98
$2.94
Oh yeah!!! They even doubled some coupons!!! It is mix and match, so head over to Lowes and get some cheap toothpaste and cereal!

The Magic Jack

My husband and I have used Vonage (VoIP) for his business phone line for the past four years and have had little problems. The phone line costs $46.23 with taxes, but we have unlimited long distance calling. We thought that was a pretty good deal and had to have the line for work purposes. Well, we have since discovered the Magic Jack.

I was very hesitant to change our service, but it has a money back guarantee and seemed legitimate, so we decided to give it a try. It costs $39.99 to buy the Magic Jack which includes the first year of service. It is only $20.00 a YEAR after that- without all the ridiculous added monthly taxes and fees you get with standard phone service. If you're spending $30-$40 per month for your phone, you can quickly see how much money you can save on annual basis.

Like our previous Vonage service, We have unlimited long distance if you have a high speed internet connection. The Magic Jack works on any computer, so if we go anywhere that has a high speed connection we can take it with us. The setup is very simple. Plug one end of the Magic Jack into a USB port on your computer, and plug a normal phone into the other. Truly idiot proof. You can choose a local phone number and you get voice mail with call waiting. The voice mails are recorded in .wav files that you receive via an instant email. Obviously you can't use it if the computer is off or the internet is down, but otherwise it is a great service. Check it out at http://www.magicjack.com/1/index.asp. There are short video tutorials to show you all about it. They're a little cheesy, but are accurate in the portrayal of the product.

I highly recommend the service!!!

Rules for Bloom Triples

Bloom does not limit how many of one coupon you can use like HT does. But, I wouldn't buy 8 of the same item at one time. They are stricter about IPs than HT and the Regent Park Bloom will not accept Smart Source IPs-- only IPs with the scissors on them. They also say one trip per day and 20 coupons per day. So, have fun and get some great deals! I will have to post more later-- sick kid!

Great websites

In my search for the best deals I have found some great websites along the way that help me find tons of freebies and good deals. I have listed many of these websites on my sidebar. All are free to join, so look to see if they work for you. Coupon Queens of Laurel Run has all the deals already posted for next week at Rite Aid, Walgreens and CVS.
If you need more of a certain coupon try buying more at couponclippers.com or ebay. Taylortownpreview.com usually has a listing of what coupons are coming out in the upcoming Sunday paper-- she usually posts Thursday or Friday. She also sells coupons. Hotcouponworld.com does it all-- It has something about just about every drugstore and grocery store in the country. You do have to join, but it is free and a great site for finding match-ups and hidden deals.
My favorite site is charlottemommies.com-- the Domestic Goddess forum. You can only join if you currently live in Charlotte or plan on moving here, but they have other mommy networking sites throughout the country. Check what is available in your area.
Email or tell me (in the comment section) what your favorite sites are!

Get these deals before they end!

I wanted to post a few deals before they end on Saturday.
Rite Aid--
I posted about the John Frieda products last night. You can also get blink Tears-- eye drops free with the Single Check Rebate at the end of the month. They also had a coupon in this week's circular for Colgate toothpaste and toothbrushes for $.99 (you have to use their coupon). I believe there is also a coupon out for $.75 off Colgate toothpaste and toothbrushes-- I used my coupons at triples so I can't remember how much it is for ;0)

CVS--
They have a lot of deals on lotions and stuff this week... I focus mainly on the free or almost free items. They had some freebies if you shopped on Sunday or Monday and they will have some more freebies on Easter Sunday and Monday-- which I will post on tomorrow. Colgate MaxWhite or Colgate MaxFresh are $.99 after extra bucks ($2.99 with $2 ebcs). Same as above with the Colgate coupon. And Skintimate moisturizing cream shave 6oz is free with ebcs ($3.49 with $3.49 in ebcs).

Walgreens--
Glade Lasting Impressions Kit-- on sale for $5.99 with $2 mail in rebate and $4 off coupon from last week's paper= free.
Reach Dental Care toothbrush and floss-- 2/$5 with $2.50 in register rewards (you use it like EBCs towards next purchase) $1 off Reach toothbrush and $.50 off Reach floss coupons make it $1 for both.
Colgate Total Advanced Toothpaste $3.49 with $3.49 in Register Rewards is free (or may be a money maker with Colgate toothpaste coupon)

Target--
$10 off new or transferred prescriptions coupon
Buy any Gillette Fusion Power razor or cartridge and Gillette Clinical strength deodorant or Gillette shave gel or Gillette body wash, conditioner or shampoo and get a $5 Target giftcard. Use coupon for Gillette razor for $2 off and $1 off Gillette shave gel and get both for $6.89 with $5 Target giftcard back.
Vitamin Water for $1 with $1 coupon from 2 weeks ago=free

Enjoy!!!

Rite Aid through the 11th

Rite Aid has John Freida shampoo on sale this week 4 bottles for $20 with a $10 rebate. If you use the coupons from this past weeks paper for $2 off-- you get 4 bottles of expensive shampoo (expensive for me ;0) for $2 or $.50 a bottle.

Couponing 101

I recently taught a couponing class at church and neglected to teach the basics of couponing which confused some of the ladies present, so here is a little couponing 101 for anyone new to the bargain world.

Many supermarkets will double internet (IP) and manufacter's coupons up to $.99 in value. If the face value of the coupon is over $1 most will not double the coupon. Supermarkets that will double all manufacturer's coupons up to $.99 are: BiLo, Lowe's and Harris Teeter. Bloom and Food Lion do not double coupons. Each store has restrictions on their doubling policies and you can go to their websites to find their particuliar coupon policies.

Triples is when the supermarket will triple any manufacturer's or IP coupon. Most recently Bloom and Harris Teeter have been having triple wars competing for customers. During triples the same rules apply to the store's couponing policy as they do for doubles, but they will triple any manufacturer's coupon or IP. Some stores have become more strict about accepting IPs or certain IPs. Bloom for example will only accept IPs with the scissors on the coupon. Harris Teeter will only accept 2 IPs on the same or like item.

How I find my deals...
I check the flyers for the different grocery, drug and big box stores and look on different forums. I will try to have some match-ups on this site weekly, so you can find the deals that I think are GREAT. But, remember that what I think is a good deal may not work for your family, so get the flyers and give it a go for yourself. Each Sunday CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens begin their deals for the week. CVS and Walgreens always have a circular in the Sunday paper. Rite Aid's circular will be in the paper if it is delivered to your home, but if you get it from a store or out of a box there will not be a Rite Aid circular. You can also find all the weekly circulars and monthly rebate books at the store itself. I will explain the CVS extracare card and rebates from Rite Aid and Walgreens in another post.

Target and Walmart also start their sales on Sunday. They each have circulars in the Sunday paper, but not in the store (or that I have found). Someone correct me if I am wrong.

The grocery stores (Harris Teeter, Lowes, BiLo, Bloom and Food Lion) do their sales from Wednesday to Tuesday. They have circulars in the Wednesday morning paper. Bloom and Food Lion send out their circulars via the mail on Tuesdays and BiLo and Lowes send theirs out on Wednesdays. All of the grocery stores above will send you updates to their circulars via email and you can find the circulars themselves in their respective stores.

Where I get my coupons...
The Sunday paper is the biggest place I get my coupons. Remember this week there will NOT be any coupons in the paper because it is a holiday. Last week there were 5 coupon inserts in the paper, so I bought 5 papers. You can also buy coupons from the Sunday paper from different sites like ebay or taylortownpreview.com. There are also IP (Internet Printable) coupons that you can find on different sites like couponsuzy.com, coupons.com, coolsavings.com, coupon surfer.com or couponclippers.com. These are just some of the websites that offer coupons and I will list some more over the next few days.

Lastly is where I hear about upcoming deals or deals that I miss in the papers...
I have joined Charlottemommies.com and there is a Domestic Goddess section where many women share what they find and their money saving tips. It is an awesome site for everything mom and I recommend joining if you are in the Charlotte area. They also have sites set up in other cities, so check out if there is a site in your town. Hotcouponworld.com is also a great site for finding where the deals are and what is coming up. There are also other sites, but I will try to list those sites as I go along.

I am happy to have you here for the ride and recommend my site to all your friends!!
