Earthfare

I have recently had change a lot of eating habits in the Rabon household. My husband and my father were diagnosed with diabetes within one month of each other. And my little Ellie is not only allergic to nuts, but we think there may be a wheat, glutin, dairy allergy or something going on also. I still coupon, but I don't buy much processed food. We make our own wheat bread 2 days a week and I keep lots of fresh food and veggies in the house. I have almost a year supply of wheat, beans, rice, sugar, white flour, honey and some other items. And I have a 3 month supply of meat and veggies in my 2 fridges and deep freezer. Having said all that I have decided to make a trip to Earthfare tomorrow. I am not big on trendy, expensive, green stores and merchandise, but they lured me in with (you can only guess) free stuff. If you make it in today or tomorrow you can get free coffee and granola (I don't do coffee, but I am excited about the granola). www.Earthfare.com/HealthySavings/EmailCoupon_2.aspx. AND if you have not signed up with Earthfare before, go sign up on their website and they will let you bring in peanut butter, jelly, soda, salad dressing and cereal to trade in for their brand. I am going in on tomorrow, so I will let you all know how it goes! The coupon says it can be full or almost gone, so I guess you know my choice--lol. It is hard being so cheap!

Footnote to yesterday's coupon class

For all the ladies that attended my coupon class yesterday there are few things that I did not get to touch on because we ran out of time, but I will post a little about them here.

Join a co-op. www.yourneighborhoodproduce.com has local fresh produce at a good price.

www.frugalmegan.com is a local mom who is into healthy couponing.

For the mom who buys organic... Join charlottemommies.com. Different moms are doing group orders for organic beef, chicken and eggs. Just post under the domestic goddess section asking who you need to hook up with on the website.

Open up a credit card with perks or points of some sort if you are not prone to over spend. I saved up $1230 in Disney points and paid for our tickets at WDW in Orlando last month. I pay off the balance each month. I also went to Give a Day Get a Day on the Walt Disney website and did service to get free tickets for me, my hubby, oldest daughter and mother.

Happy couponing!

Beer Rebate

As probably most if not all of you know I am Mormon and therefore I do not drink alcohol. That being said I have recently discovered that in the state of North Carolina you can do beer rebates without having to purchase any beer. It against the law to require you to purchase beer and another item, so the beer/alcohol companies come out with rebates for different food, gift cards or maybe decorations. Here is a Coors Superbowl rebate link-- http://www.coorslight.com/superbowl44/coupon/LGC03105609_101058_LR.pdf. Now, usually these rebates do not come out on line. Usually you have to find a hard copy in your local Bi Lo, Food Lion or Harris Teeter. But, since I have found this link on line I thought I would share a little about these rebates with you. They can be a great money maker-- I think I did over $200 in rebates last month alone. Good luck and have fun Super Doubling.

Recent Rebates

Here are two really good recent rebates that I found...

First is the SCJohnson rebate. You can do up to 3 $5 back rebates. This is great, because I buy a lot of these products.

And the second is from Real Simple magazine. Here is the link:

And as always Caregiver Marketplace will give you rebates for all those Huggies diapers you buy...
